MOORHEAD, Minn.- After dropping Friday's matchup, the Yellowjackets were back in action Saturday, once again taking on the Cobbers of Concordia College. After two early goals in the opening period, the Cobbers were able to claim a 4-1 victory.
Game Notes:
- Concordia was able to jump out to an early 1-0 lead courtesy of the power play from Morgan Sauvageau.
- The Cobbers were able to extend their lead as Sauvageau added her second goal of the contest.
- Concordia once again extended their lead in the second period courtesy of Addie Moos.
- The 'Jackets were able to answer back as Aylie Dahl (Beaumont, Alberta/John Maland) found the back of the net. Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) and Taylee Marks (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Hammarskjold) were credited with assists.
- The Cobbers were able to add another goal in the third period courtesy of Taylyn Cope.
- Jayda Moyer (Albert Lea, Minn./Albert Lea) held an .895 save percentage making 34 saves in the contest.
- Anna Scherling (Rogers, Minn./Rogers) and Dahl took five shots each pacing the offense for Superior.
- Scherling won 11-19 faceoffs, while Parnell won eight.
Superior is back in action January 2nd as they take on Saint Benedict. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside Wessman Arena.
