SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Two members of the Yellowjacket men's track and field team competed in events Friday at the University of Minnesota, and Saturday it was another group's turn to get one more competition before the 2025 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships.
With the bulk of the Yellowjackets back in Superior getting valuable rest before the upcoming biggest meet of the season, the Yellowjacket 4-x-200-meter relay team was in action, competing at the Gene Glader Classic, hosted by Bethel University.
It was a good day for the Yellowjackets, who was the event's runner-up Saturday, coming in with a time of 1:35.21. The Yellowjackets finished just behind first-place Bethel, and edged out Bethel's second team for second place. The Yellowjacket team was made up of
Will Schorr (Superior, Wis./Superior),
Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East),
Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) and
Ethan Ashworth (Danbury, Wis./Webster).
The Yellowjackets will be back in action Friday, Feb. 28 when they open the 2025 UMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Events are scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. in the Lydia Thering Fieldhouse on the UW-Superior campus.
