SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) named junior pitcher/infielder Samantha Swartz (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) as its softball pitcher of the week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Swartz was credited with the first win of the 2025 season Friday, as the Yellowjackets traveled to the Dundas Dome to take on Macalester and Carleton in a season-opening doubleheader. She came into the circle in the bottom of the fourth inning and allowed just two hits and one run against the Scots to log the first W of the new campaign.
 
UW-Superior returns to action this weekend at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational. Their first-of-four opponents will come against Wisconsin Lutheran, which is set for 12 p.m. inside the UW-Oshkosh Rec Plex.
