RIPON, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's track and field team had a pair of athletes competing in the pentathlon Friday at the Ripon NCAA Final Qualifier, where
Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) and
Riley Toivonen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

Saturday marked the final opportunity for athletes to up their marks and qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, and the Yellowjackets had two athletes competing Saturday.

Tea Boerner (Owatonna, Minn./Owatonna) had another solid performance for the indoor season, setting a new personal record in the 3,000 meters. Boerner came across the line with a time of 10:55.39. The finish was good enough for her to place third.

The other Yellowjacket competing Saturday was
Cora Schmitz (Luck, Wis./Unity). Schmitz was scheduled to compete in two events – the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Schmitz scratched for the 200 meters, making he 60 meters her only event of the day. In the 60-meter preliminary, Schmitz finished with a time of 8.73 seconds, which allowed her to qualify for the finals. She was even faster in the final, coming across the line with a time of 8.69 seconds. Schmitz placed seventh in the preliminary and fifth in the final.

Saturday closed out the indoor season for the Yellowjackets, who will now turn their attention to the outdoor portion of their schedule. The first outdoor meet will be at CSB Optimistic Invite at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville, Minn. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29.
