SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's track and field team returned to action Saturday, traveling to the confines of Klas Field on the campus of Hamline University for their yearly invitational.

Meet Notes
- Ortiz highlighted the day in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. He finished third in the 100-meter with a 10.96-second finish, which ranks 81st in NCAA Division III. His fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash was clocked at 21.62 meters, marking as the nation's 24th best.
- Joseph Kamara (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles, setting a time of 15.84 seconds.
- The 400-meter hurdles saw a personal record from Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East), finishing the race in 1:00.72.
- Six-of-nine Yellowjackets achieved a PR or a season-best mark in the 5,000-meter race. Zach Reese (Zimmerman, Minn./Spectrum) led the charge with a sixth-place finish of 15:37.41.
- Aidan Doherty (Wild Rose, Wis./Wild Rose) followed in tenth at 15:59.30 before Kieran Johnson (South Range, Wis./Northwestern) PR'd at 16:00.98. Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips) and Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) followed, setting PR's of 16:02.10 and 16:03.54, respectively.
- Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) logged a PR at 16:43.66 while Tyler Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood) garnered a season-best race time of 17:44.45.
- Both Blake Rossmann (Brule, Wis./Brule) and Fabian Rosales (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) set PRs in the discus throw, ending with marks of 35.47 and 32.85 meters, respectively.
- A personal record came to Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) in the hammer throw, achieving a heave of 46.88 meters. Bo Waletzko (Superior, Wis./Superior) followed in seventh place, logging a 41.26-meter chuck before setting a season-best heave in the shot put at 11.73 meters for 18th place.
- The high jump pit saw Chance Davis (Superior, Wis./Superior) PR at 1.70 meters, good for tenth place before picking up another tenth place spot in the triple jump, logging a 10.57-meter mark.
- Jason Thomas (Superior, Wis./Superior) competed in the pole vault, logging a third-place finish at 4.05 meters.
- The 4x100-meter relay came in Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage), Ortiz, Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) and Will Schorr (Superior, Wis./Superior), and they set a 44.22 second time for seventh place.
- Competing at UW-La Crosse Saturday, Earl Foster (Forest Lake, Minn./Spectrum) took the top spot in the javelin, setting a heave of 55.79 meters.
The 'Jackets now set their sights to the Saint Mary's Invitational, set for next Saturday. Events will take place at their outdoor complex.
