SUPERIOR, Wis. – Three members of the Yellowjacket men's track and field team were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Tuesday. Senior
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage), alongside sophomores
Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) and
Jason Thomas (Superior, Wis./Superior) were named to the Academic All-District Team at the end of the 2024-25 seasons.
Lynch studies business administration and maintains a 3.75 grade point average. On the regional performance list, he placed in the top 50 in four separate events. His best mark came in the heptathlon, taking 31st overall while ranking 84th nationaly with 4,270 points. In the pole vault he ranked 34th with a leap of 4.32 meters, while adding a 41st place 60-meter hurdle time of 8.59 seconds. Lynch rounds out his senior season with a 48th place high jump mark of 1.88 meters.
Wilhorn holds a 3.64 grade point average as a communications major. He nabbed a pair of regional rankings in the hammer and weight throw. Wilhorn's toss of 15.85 in the weight throw sees him rank 37th in the north region, while his hammer mark of 49.73 meters is good for 34th.
Thomas collected a pair of pole-vaulting marks that saw him also crack the top 50 list in the north region. During the indoor season he leaped 4.30 meters, which stands at 37th before setting a 4.14-meter mark in the outdoor campaign, sitting in 50th.
The Yellowjackets claimed the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) indoor track and field title in 2025, marking the ninth consecutive championship.
