NORTHFIELD, Minn. – After a week hiatus from their season-opener, the Yellowjacket women's cross country team returned to the course Saturday at the St. Olaf Invite. Amidst a group of national and regional opponents, the Yellowjackets found themselves in 12th place, collecting a team score of 351.
Race Notes
- Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro) paced Superior with a 24:10.6, placing 49th individually.
- Lilley Smith (Ironwood, Mich./Ironwood) followed with a time of 25:24.8 before Amelia Olson (Sturgeon Lake, Minn./Moose Lake) capped her day with a 27:47.5.
- Finishing the day with a 28:40.5 was Kayela Putnam (Stephenson, Mich./Stephenson), while Lillianna Jones (Portage, Wis./Portage) (29:20.0) and Aubrey Peterson (Kasson, Minn./Kasson-Mantorville) (29:22.2) followed.
- Rounding out the 'Jackets was Scarlett Vanderscheuren (Saginaw, Minn./South Ridge), collecting a 30:33.4 on the day.
The Yellowjackets will now shift their focus to the Blugold Invite, scheduled for Oct. 3 at Whitetail Golf Course.
