SUPERIOR, Wis. – Wednesday the Yellowjacket men's soccer team played their second-of-two matches Wednesday, taking on St. Scholastica in the annual bridge battle. Superior has been on a roll recently, winning their first two Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) matches against North Central and Northwestern. Wednesday came around and Superior continued their winning streak, claiming their fifth win after a 5-0 over the Saints.

- Rowan Wagner (McFarland, Wis./McFarland) got on the scoresheet after sending a header into the back of the net after a Freddy Watson (Wendover, England/Berkshire College of Agriculture) cross at the 26th minute of play.
- After the intermission, Jake Kidd (Superior, Wis./Superior), who recently garnered his 50th goal as a Yellowjacket, took feeds from Watson and Joel Thomas (Cardiff, Wales/Islwyn) to bring Superior's lead to 2-0 at the 54th minute of play.
- The 'Jackets tallied their third goal of the evening off the head of Wagner for his second of the night, who received a pass from Orlando Fertleman (London, England/Aldenham).
- The Saints fouled inside the box and the 'Jackets sent freshman Valentin Soares (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Equipe) to take the penalty shot, where he garnered his first collegiate goal in the 88th minute.
- Just seconds later, Jack Lay (South West London, England/Esher College) took a cross from Elijah Aultman (Esko, Minn./Cloquet) and logged his first Yellowjacket goal, shutting the door and trigging the Culver's Five Goal Free for All.
- UWS led the Saints in total shots at 18-4, including an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.
- Patrick Sessions (Brighton, England/Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College) finished the night with two saves, logging another clean sheet in net for Superior.
Superior (5-3, 3-0 UMAC) will host the Cougars of Minnesota Morris Saturday. The opening kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at SCCU Stadium.
