SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's soccer team returned home Saturday to face off against UW-Stout. Both squads haven't played in the Twin Ports since 2022, where Superior ended a lengthy losing streak against their former Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) foe.
Fast forward to Saturday and Superior generated a lot of scoring chances, but ultimately fell after Kayla White fired a shot into the back of the net, proving to be the game-winning goal at the 52nd minute of play.
Match Notes
- Kamryn Hill (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld) led offensively, taking four total shots with two on frame.
- Kasja Kovala (Winona, Minn./Winona) had a strong match in the middle, logging 69 minutes on the pitch and adding a shot on net.
- Goalkeeper Quinn Clark (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) made six saves in net, while UW-Stout's Kristen Silenzi made five.
- Niamh Larson (Brookfield, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) added two shots of her own in 83 minutes of play.
UWS looks for their first win of the campaign Wednesday as they travel to Moorhead, Minn. Their match against Concordia College is set for 3 p.m. at Jake Christiansen Stadium.
