SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) named junior
Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) and sophomore
Makenna Hohbein (Holdingford, Minn./Holdingford) its athletes of the week in an announcement Tuesday. Uitto nabs the first cross country accolade while Hohbein repeated as the league's offensive athlete of the week.
Hohbein's offense came to play this weekend at the Saint Paul Tournament. She fired 47 kills while being responsible for 39 points across the four matches. Additionally, Hohbein's defense was equally present, helping the Yellowjackets to a 2-2 record on the weekend.
Uitto led the Yellowjackets at this weekend's Toni St. Pierre Invite. He finished fourth against a tough field of regional opponents with a mark of 16:00.6, which now serves as a lifetime best in the 5k. As a whole, the Yellowjackets finished third in the race and logged the best finish in the UMAC this weekend.
The Yellowjacket volleyball team is back in action this weekend, entering the UW-La Crosse Invitational. Action begins Friday at 5 p.m. against Luther College.
The Yellowjacket men's cross country team heads to St. Olaf Saturday, Sept. 20 where they compete in the St. Olaf Invitational. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m. in Northfield, Minn.
