SUPERIOR, Wis. – Winning has been a habit for the Yellowjacket men's track and field team, as they've claimed nine consecutive championships since joining the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). Friday marked day one of the UMAC Championships inside the Dr. Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse, and after claiming first place in six events, the Yellowjackets garnered 116 points and first place heading into the second and final day.

Meet Notes
- The Yellowjacket quartet of Jesse Ortiz (Medford, Minn./Medford) (1st; 7.08), Ethan Bowe (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) (2nd; 7.09), Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) (5th; 7.21) and Logan Ulate (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (7th; 7.22) all qualified for the 60-meter finals on Saturday.
- Bowe claimed first in the 400-meter dash at 51.90 seconds while Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) followed in second at 51.96 seconds. Both set personal bests on the day.
- Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) finished the mile in 4:28.81, good for first place. Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips) followed in third with a personal best race time of 4:38.59.
- Hoogland's race time of 16:50.81 in the 5,000-meters gave him a first-place finish, followed by Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) in third place at 17:04.38.
- In the long jump, Sawyer Ferdon (Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley) was the top Yellowjacket, taking a mark of 6.27 meters.
- Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) won in the weight throw, finishing with a heave of 17.80 meters and currently ranking 37th in all of NCAA Division III. Fabian Rosales (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) took third at 14.25 meters.
- The distance medley crew of Hoogland, Braden Niessen (Rush City, Minn./Rush City), Meisner and Uitto took first with a time of 11:20.11.
