HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Senior forward
Chris Ishmael (Oakville, Ontario/Abbey Park Secondary School) of the Yellowjacket men's hockey team has signed a professional contract with the Huntsville Havoc, members of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
Ishmael is the second Yellowjacket to sign professionally following the 2025-26 season, joining senior defenseman
Dusty Bergstrom (Pine City, Minn./Pine City) who signed with Fayetteville of the SPHL.
As a Yellowjacket, Ishmael skated in 97 games, totaling 15 goals and 26 assists for 41 points. In his senior season, he played in 22 games and scored four goals with a team-second 10 assists for 14 points. Ishmael also blocked 10 shots from the opposition in the 2025-26 season.
Ishmael joins former teammates CJ Walker and MacGregor Sinclair in the SPHL, who both play for Birmingham.
The Havoc are in action Friday as they take on the Peoria Rivermen. Puck drop is slated for 7:15 p.m. CT inside the Peoria Civic Center.
