ORLANDO, Fla. - The Yellowjacket men's tennis team wrapped up the Florida portion of their schedule facing off against Dickinson. It took two days to determine a winner in this match which ultimately went the way of the Red Devils by a score of 4-3.
Match Notes:
- Dickinson won the doubles point winning two of three matches. For the Yellowjackets the team of Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School) and Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) won their doubles match by a score of 6-2. The other doubles pairings of Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) and Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber) and Adam Culp (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) and Keanu Lin (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) fell 1-6, 4-6 respectively.
- In the No. 1 singles Kanugovi lost to his Red Devil counterpart 3-6, 2-6 while in the No. 2 singles Chhabra earned a victory 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8).
- Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) picked up a win in his match by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Sakakibara lost his singles match 7-6, 2-6, 0-1 (7-10).
- Culp dropped his match 7-6, 4-6, 0-1 (4-10) while Lin earned a victory in the No. 6 singles 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7).
The Yellowjackets are next in action on March 21 when they take on Wartburg. Opening serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Rogers Tennis Club in Rogers, Minn.
