COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Yellowjacket men's track and field team began the outdoor season Saturday, seeing action at the CSB/SJU Optimistic Invite. The 'Jackets laid a strong foundation for the start of outdoor, compiling 21 personal records on top of 15 season bests, seven leaders within the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) and two event champions.

Meet Notes
- Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) paced the track events for Superior, taking second place in the 100-meter dash with a personal best time of 10.92 seconds. He would later take first in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.34 seconds. This mark sets him 49th overall in NCAA Division III.
- Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) took home eighth in the discus with a heave of 41.12 meters, 11th in the shot put at 13.49 meters and a top finish in the hammer throw, setting a mark of 51.15 meters. His mark in the hammer mark him 28th in all of NCAA Division III.
- Ethan Bowe (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) took seventh in the 100-meter dash at 11.15 seconds.
- Braden Niessen (Rush City, Minn./Rush City) finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles at 17.26.
- In the 400-meter dash, Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) finished in 52.54 seconds for sixth place.
- Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) garnered a fourth-place finish in the 1,500-meter dash at 4:06.25 seconds.
- The Yellowjacket duo of Jayde Canfield (Prescott, Wis./Prescott) (10:47.91) and Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) (11:13.18) took fifth and sixth place, respectively, in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
- In the triple jump, Tucker Briggs (Superior, Wis./Superior) (11.83 meters) and Alex Helstrom (Staples, Minn./Staples) (10.83 meters) finished sixth and seventh, respectively.

Now the Yellowjackets shift their sights to the Hamline Invitational. Action this Monday is set for 3 p.m. at Klas Field.
