COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saturday the Yellowjacket women's track and field team opened the outdoor season, traveling to partake in the CSB/SJU Optimistic Invite. The Yellowjackets began the campaign on the right foot, setting 18 personal records, 11 season bests and placing five atop the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) standings.

Meet Notes
- Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro) led the track for Superior, placing first with a personal record of 4:50.05 in the 1,500-meter race. Her time not only served as a PR but also set a new meet record.
- Leading in the field events was Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum). She finished her day in a share of first place, clearing the bar at 1.55 meters.
- Aylie Dahl (Beaumont, Alberta/John Maland) set a new personal best in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 13.50 seconds.
- Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) spearheaded the Yellowjackets in the javelin throw, taking third place at 36.06 meters. She also finished in the top 10 in shot put with a heave of 11.41 meters.
- Taking 10th place in the pole vault was Kayela Putnam (Stephenson, Mich./Stephenson), vaulting to 3.10 meters. She was followed by Ella Briggs (Ridgeland, Wis./Prairie Farm) who took 14th at 2.80 meters. Both athletes finished with new personal bests.
- In the triple jump, Naima Burt (Winter, Wis./Winter) took 10th place with a mark of 9.36 meters.

The Yellowjackets have a quick turnaround competing in the Hamline Invitational, set for Monday at Klas Field.
