SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's track and field team had a quick turnaround on Monday, taking part in the Hamline Invitational just two days after the CSB/SJU Optimistic Invite concluded. Despite the short rest, Superior fared well on the day in a heat of some of the region's best, picking up a trio of season-bests and 10 new personal records.
Meet Notes
- In the 100-meter hurdles, both Riley Toivonen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and KelliJoy Manninen (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) placed in the top 15, taking home times of 18.48 and 18.88 seconds, respectively.
- Melissa Hoff (Holmen, Wis./Holmen) ran a 29.32-second 200-meter dash before cracking the top 15 in the 400-meters, crossing the line at 1:06.
- Taylor DeCook (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) set a new personal best during the 800-meter race, taking seventh place with a time of 2:29.70.
- Earning fifth place in the 5k was Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), setting a personal best time of 18:01.55. This time also beat all individuals throughout NCAA Division II and III.
- Both Manninen and Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) cleared the bar of 1.50 meters in the high jump. Dimaze would later place ninth in javelin with a heave of 24.23 meters.
- Maddie Reott (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton), competing in the long jump, placed sixth with a leap of 5.06 meters.
- McKenna Nash's (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) pole vault of 2.60 meters garnered her a new personal best.
Superior's next meet on the docket is the Manitou Invite, hosted by St. Olaf. Action is set for Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. on the Manitou Track.
