NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Yellowjacket women's track and field team took on the Manitou Classic Saturday, hosted by St. Olaf. Superior posted a strong outing, but one that stood out the most was
Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro), who etched her name into the record book with a new school record in the 3,000-meter race. This mark dethrones Sarah Anderson, who set the mark in 1996.

Meet Notes
- Stephens set a personal best in the 3k, crossing the line in 10:24.43 seconds. This time is nearly 20 full seconds faster than Sarah Anderson's race time (10.43.64), a mark that has held its spot in the record book for 30 years.
- Aislin Carrick (Monitor, Alberta/Shaftesbury) achieved a top 10 finish in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 13.56 seconds. She also set a personal best in the 200-meter dash with a race time of 28.18 seconds.
- Aylie Dahl (Beaumont, Alberta/John Maland) set a new season best in the 200-meter, coming in just before Carrick at 28.07 seconds.
- Taylor DeCook's (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) time of 2:31.54 seconds gave her 11th in the 800-meter race.
- Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) took second in the high jump with a leap of 1.52 meters. She was followed by KelliJoy Manninen (Duluth, Minn./Proctor) and Addison Smith (Blue Earth, Minn./Blue Earth) (1.47 meters) and Kyra Nelson (Faribault, Minn./Faribault) (1.42 meters), respectively.
- In the javelin, Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) paced the Yellowjackets with a second-place 34.43 meter heave. She was followed by both Riley Toivonen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Dimaze, finishing with heaves of 25.20 and 25.12 meters, respectively.
- Maddie Reott (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 4.90 meters.
- In the pole vault, Kayela Putnam (Stephenson, Mich./Stephenson) secured fifth place at 2.90 meters, while Keira Hesseldahl (International Falls, Minn./Falls) (2.60 meters), Ella Briggs (Ridgeland, Wis./Prairie Farm) (2.60 meters) and McKenna Nash (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) (2.45 meters) all followed.
- Dahl took home second place with a triple jump of 10 meters, while Toivonen nabbed fourth with a leap of 9.02 meters.

Superior is back in action next Saturday where they take on the CSB/SJU Invitational. Action is set for 11 a.m. at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville, Minn.
