COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. - Thursday saw the Yellowjacket men's track and field team in action, partaking in the CSB/SJU Invitational at Clemens Stadium. Superior had a strong outing, collecting 21 personal records, a pair of season-bests and a new school record.
Meet Notes
- Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) took second in the 200-meter dash with a personal-best time of 22.53 seconds. In the 100-meter dash, he claimed fourth with an 11.20-second race time.
- Logan Ulate (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) placed within the top 10 in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line at 11.46 seconds.
- Ethan Bowe's (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) fourth-place finish of 22.88 seconds gave him fourth in the 200-meter dash. He grabbed a spot in the top 10 with a 51.06-second finish in the 400-meter race.
- Braden Niessen (Rush City, Minn./Rush City) (1:01.10 seconds) and Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) (1:03.43 seconds) placed sixth and 10th, respectively, in the 400-meter hurdles.
- Dylan Uitto's (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) mark of 1:57.79 seconds in the 800-meter race was good for a new personal best, while Ben Plackner's (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) mark of 4:15.22 seconds in the 1,500-meter race set a new season-best mark.
- In the 10k, Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips)Â claimed first place with a time of 33:03.42 seconds.
- In throws, Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) took home second place in the hammer throw with a heave of 54.29 meters. This mark gives him a new ranking of 32nd in all of NCAA Division III.
- Rene Sems (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) logged an indoor pole vault mark of 4.10 meters for fourth place.Â
- Sawyer Ferdon (Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley), Chance Davis (Superior, Wis./Superior) and Alex Helstrom (Staples, Minn./Staples) each logged top 10 finishes in the triple jump. Ferdon's season best leap of 12.94 meters gave him third, while Davis (11.38 meters) and Helstrom (11.00 meters) followed in eighth and ninth, respectively.
- A new school record was set in the 4x100-meter relay, as the quartet of Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior), Peterson, Ulate and Bowe finished their race at 42.62 seconds.
The Yellowjackets are back in action next week as they host the First Annual Dan Conway Classic. Action is set for SCCU Stadium in Superior.
