EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's tennis team traveled to the John and Fay Menard YMCA Tennis Center Sunday to face off against the host-Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire. Superior was looking to snap a two-match losing streak, but the Blugolds had other plans, taking down the 'Jackets 6-1 on their home court.

- The Yellowjacket duo of Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) and Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School) fell 6-2 at the top spot, while Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) and Keanu Lin (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) dropped a 7-6 (7-0) decision at No. 2 doubles.
- Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) and Blake Haugen (Fairmont, Minn./Fairmont) teamed up to face Andrew Mueller and Cohen Newberg but fell 6-3 to UWEC.
- Kanugovi took on Danylo Ripeckyj and forced tiebreakers, but ultimately fell 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2 singles.
- Abarca Pino defeated his Blugold opponent 6-1, 7-5 at the fourth singles position.
- Lin dropped a back-and-forth battle to Emilio Monge, falling 7-6 (7-4) before winning the second 6-1, and ultimately dropping the tiebreaker 1-0 (10-5).

UWS returns to action Tuesday where they take on St. Scholastica. Action is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Longview Tennis Club.
