SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) named four Yellowjackets in
Zach Romans (Saint Michael, Minn./Saint Michael),
Abby Mitchell (Cloquet, Minn./Carlton),
Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) and
Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) as part of their weekly award recipients in a release Tuesday.

Romans hurled a gem on Friday as the Yellowjackets faced off against North Central. In nine innings he allowed just one hit while striking out 11 hitters in an 8-0 victory. Romans ranks second in the league with innings pitched (46.0) while ranking third in strikeouts (45).

Mitchell pitched a pair of victories this past weekend as the Yellowjackets took on North Central. In two appearances she threw a pair of complete games, hurling 10 innings of shutout softball allowing just four hits while striking out 10.

Wilhorn placed second in the hammer throw this weekend at the CSB/SJU Invitational. His heave of 54.29 meters ranks him 32nd in all of NCAA Division III and places him second on the UW-Superior all-time list.

Tejada was undefeated against UMAC opponents this week. In singles play, she defeated UNW 6-3, 6-2, BLC 6-1, 6-0 and Morris 6-1, 6-0 all at the top spot. In doubles action alongside
Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills), they took down Northwestern 7-6 (7-2), BLC 6-4 and Morris 6-0.Â

The Yellowjacket baseball team is in action Wednesday as they face St. Scholastica. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Wade Stadium.

The Yellowjacket softball team returns to the diamond Wednesday as they take on Northwestern. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 3 p.m. at the NBC Sports Complex.

The Yellowjacket track and field team is set to host the First Annual Dan Conway Classic this Saturday, scheduled for 11 a.m. at SCCU Stadium.

The Yellowjacket tennis team will take on St. Scholastica Wednesday. The opening serve is set for 2 p.m. at the Longview Tennis Club.
