SUPERIOR, Wis. – It was a historic day for the Yellowjackets Saturday, as they competed in the inaugural Dan Conway Classic at SCCU Stadium. The 'Jackets had a strong showing, as they placed numerous athletes in the top 10 on a chilly day in Superior.

Meet Notes
- Jesse Ortiz (Medford, Minn./Medford) (11.07 seconds), Ethan Bowe (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) (11.09 seconds), Logan Ulate (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) (11.18 seconds) and Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) (11.38 seconds) all qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash. In the finals, Hakanson led with a season-best mark of 11.32 seconds.
- Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) set yet another school record, this time in the 110-meter hurdles. His time of 14.62 seconds set a new personal best while ranking 31st in all of NCAA Division III.
- Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) placed third in the 200-meter dash, collecting a season-best time of 23.54 seconds.
- In the 400-meter dash, Kieran Bignell's (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie) 55.94-second finish was a new personal best race time.
- The 800-meter race saw Ben Plackner (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) lead the Yellowjackets with a season-best time of 2:05.02.
- Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) placed second in the 1,500-meter dash, followed by Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) (5th; 4:20.62), Deryck Parduhn (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) (7th; 4:33.51) and Jayde Canfield (Prescott, Wis./Prescott) (8th; 4:36.49) followed.
- Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) took seventh place in the discus throw with a heave of 39.72 meters. He later placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.32 meters.
- Chase Pierce (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) had a pair of 10th place marks in discus (34.23 meters) and hammer throw (40.28 meters).
- Carlos Beckstrand's (Barnum, Minn./Barnum) third place mark of 1.75 meters was a new personal best, while Isaac Hanson's (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) season-best mark of 1.50 meters was good for a tie of sixth place.
- Braden Niessen (Rush City, Minn./Rush City) (40.07 meters), Jackson Fiamoncini (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) (38.92 meters), Hakanson (34.96 meters) and Bignell (22.06 meters) all led the javelin throw.
- Rene Sems (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) led with a 4.20-meter vault, a new season best. He was followed by Fiamoncini (3.90 meters) and Micky Little (Superior, Wis./Superior) (3.60 meters).
- The relay team of Hakanson, Ortiz, Ulate and Bowe took first in the 4x100-meters.

The 'Jackets will stay at home as they host the UMAC Outdoor Championships next week. The two-day event begins on Friday at SCCU Stadium.
