NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Yellowjacket baseball team was back in action Sunday for a non-conference matchup with Carleton. The Yellowjackets found themselves behind in the late stages of the game but came all the way back to win in extra innings over the Knights 9-8.

The 'Jackets struck first scoring three in the first inning starting with Owen Farrington (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake Area) RBI single that scored Cody Glasheen (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale). Mason McKellar (Nashotah, Wis./Arrowhead) would knock in Farrington later to make it 2-0. Zach Flater (Waterford, Wis./Waterford Union) drove in the third run later scoring McKellar.

The Yellowjackets answered back in the eighth starting with Chase Oxborough (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) scoring on a wild pitch to make it 8-5. Glasheen would bring in Wylee Arro (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown) on an RBI single, making the score 8-6. Farrington tied up the game with a double that scored both Glasheen and Will Czech (Anoka, Minn./Anoka).

Carter Thielke (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) started on the mound for the 'Jackets pitching the first two innings. Logan Zinsmaster (Eau Claire, Wis./Eau Claire Memorial), Evan Cichanofsky (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port), and Niles Monroe (Belleville, Wis./Belleville) pitched the middle stages of the game, giving up all eight Knights runs.

Adam Jensen (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd) picked up the win pitching three innings, only allowing one hit. Kevin Rahe (Princeton, Minn./Princeton) picked up the save for Superior pitching the final inning.
The Yellowjackets return to action on Saturday as they host Minnesota Morris for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the NBC Sports Complex in Superior.
