SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's track and field team finished day one of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championship Friday. After snagging a pair of meet records, they found themselves just a point shy of first place, trailing Crown by just one point for second place.

Meet Notes
- In the 100-meter prelims, both Maddie Reott (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) and Aylie Dahl (Beaumont, Alberta/John Maland) qualified for the finals with times of 13.01 and 13.16 seconds, respectively.
- Chesney Phillipp (Jacksonville, N.C./Holdingford) placed seventh in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 17.39 seconds while Riley Toivonen (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) set a new season-best time of 18.23 seconds for 10th place.
- Reott garnered third in the 200-meter dash with a race time of 26.91 meters.
- Simone Stephens (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro) took home a new meet record in the 800-meters, taking second place with a 2:16.18-second race time.
- The other meet record came in the javelin throw, as Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) took home first place with a heave of 39.39 meters. Her mark now stands 41st in all of NCAA Division III.
- Dahl placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters, while Reott took fourth with a 5.00-meter mark. Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) finished in the top 10 with a mark of 4.88 meters.
- Kayela Putnam (Stephenson, Mich./Stephenson) took first in the pole vault at 2.90 meters, while Keira Hesseldahl (International Falls, Minn./Falls) (2.75 meters), McKenna Nash (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) (2.60 meters) and Ella Briggs (Ridgeland, Wis./Prairie Farm) (2.60 meters) followed in third, fifth and sixth places, respectively.
- In shot put, Alivia Visger (Superior, Wis./Superior) grabbed second place with a heave of 11 meters even, while Bader's 10.88-meter chuck gave her third place.

Superior returns for the second and final day of the conference championship, which begins at 11 a.m. in Superior.
