MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - After a win over The W yesterday the Yellowjacket men's tennis team took on Greenville in the finals of the UMAC Championship. The Yellowjackets couldn't dethrone the Panthers falling 4-0.
Game Notes:
- The Yellowjackets dropped the doubles point losing two of three matches. Igor Guetten Chaves (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil/Colégio Adventista) and Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber) picked up a victory winning their match 6-3.
- Sharan Kanugovi (Bangalore, Karnataka/New Baldwin International School) fell in the No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-2.
- Yash Chhabra (Jaipur, Rajasthan/Sanskar School) lost his match 6-4 and 6-0 in the No. 3 singles.
- Elsewhere multiple Superior matches were in their third set as both Sakakibara and Mateo Abarca Pino (Riobamba, Ecuador/El Despertar) were battling to keep the Yellowjackets in it.
- Adam Culp (Metamora, Ill./Metamora Township) fell in the No. 6 singles 6-0 and 7-6 (7-5) which clinched the victory for Greenville.
The Yellowjackets close their season 13-11 and 3-1 in the UMAC.
