SUPERIOR, Wis. – On day two of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championship, the Yellowjacket men's track and field team displayed a strong effort in Superior, and despite setting new meet records and personal bests, took home second place with a team score of 233.5.

Meet Notes
- In the hammer throw, Carson Wilhorn (Necedah, Wis./Necedah) claimed medalist honors after hurling a 54.01-meter mark for a new meet record. He beat the nearest athlete by nearly three full meters. Fabian Rosales (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) followed with a 47.64-meter chuck.
- Sawyer Ferdon (Motley, Minn./Staples-Motley) took home second place in the triple jump after a leap of 13.22 meters. Tucker Briggs (Superior, Wis./Superior) (7th; 12.05 meters) and Edward Hakanson (Foxboro, Wis./Superior) (9th; 11.63 meters) followed.
- In a tie of fourth place was Carlos Beckstrand (Barnum, Minn./Barnum), equaling his personal best mark of 1.75 meters in the high jump.
- Superior claimed first place in the 4x100-meter relay, as the quartet of Kyle Peterson (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd), Logan Ulate (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), Hakanson and Ethan Bowe (Chetek, Wis./Chetek-Weyerhaeuser) crossed the line at 42.77 meters.
- Taking the crown in the 1,500-meter race was Dylan Uitto (Ashland, Wis./Ashland), setting a new season-best at 4:04.06. Following him in third-fifth place were Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips) (4:12.46), Ben Plackner (Bovey, Minn./Greenway) (4:13.46), and Dominick Meisner (Bloomer, Wis./Bloomer) (4:19.17).
- Peterson took home the crown in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.71 seconds. This now serves as a meet record. Garrett Kroells (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East) took eighth place with a race time of 19.30 meters.
- Bowe garnered fifth place in the 400-meter dash, while Ulate and Peterson took second and third in the 100-meter finals with times of 10.96 and 11.01 seconds, respectively.
- The Yellowjacket duo of Maverick Hoogland (Catawba, Wis./Phillips) and Uitto took first and second place in the 5k, with Hoogland crossing the line at 15:57.43 before Uitto claimed a race time of 16:24.65.

The 'Jackets will now set their sights to the Eagle Open, hosted by UW-La Crosse. Action is set for Friday at 3 p.m.
