MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Yellowjackets women's tennis team looked to earn back to back UMAC titles again facing Greenville. The Yellowjackets repeated last years action beating the Panthers to claim their second straight UMAC title and a bid into the NCAA Tournament.
Match Notes:
- The Yellowjackets lost the doubles point losing two of three matches. Elif Oezen (Rheda-Wiedenbrueck, Germany/Einstein Gymnasium) and Addison Fee (Crookston, Minn./Crookston) were able to pick up a victory in their match 6-0.
- Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee) was the first Yellowjacket to win earning a victory on straight sets both by scores of 6-0.
- Andreina Tejada (Quito, Ecuador/Isaac Newton) got it to 2-1 winning in the No. 1 singles 6-3 and 6-2.
- Kate Jonas (Annandale, Minn./Annandale) won her match 6-2 in both sets which set up the path to victory for Superior.
- Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills) clinched the match for Superior winning her match 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
The Yellowjackets now wait until Monday as they will find out were they will play in the NCAA Tournament. The selection show is scheduled for Monday at 11 a.m.
