Men's Soccer Recruit: Tadd Speaks

Men's soccer recruit Tadd Speaks

The men's soccer program continues to replenish itself for the 2012-13 season and head coach Joe Mooney has announced that Tadd Speaks is the latest player to commit to the Yellowjackets.  Speaks, from Sartell, Minn. made his commitment to Mooney this week.

Speaks, a midfielder played high school soccer at Sartell High School where he scored 12 goals and added eight assists in his senior season, on his way to Central Lakes All-Conference and Central Minnesota All-Area Team honors.  He was also an Central Lakes All-Conference honoree as a junior.

"Tadd has all the tools to make an immediate impact at the Division III level.  He's a strong player who strives in physical match-ups," Mooney said.  "His best technical ability is seen in the center of the field where he can distribute at will.  He has the ability to turn in tight spaces and strike the ball from a decent range, which makes him a constant threat.  We're very excited to have Tadd on board."

During the summer months, Speaks plays his club soccer with the Becker Blaze, who were crowned as the MYSA state champions in 2011.

"UW-Superior has a great atmosphere.  I felt like I could fit in well and I could really see myself spending four years there," Speaks said when asked about his selection of UW-Superior.  "I'm looking forward to getting to know the UW-Superior lifestyle and I'm hoping I can make an impact there as well.  I'm excited to become a Yellowjacket."
