Last Week's Highlights
- Sophomore

Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in five weeks this season for the University of Wisconsin Superior's men's track & field team.
- Senior
Hailey Adair (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park H.S.) was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week for the second time this season as she helped the Yellowjackets secure a
now three-game winning streak.
Men's Basketball (6-16, 5-8 UMAC)
- UW-Superior split last weekend and goes into its final two weeks of UMAC play in win-now mode as the Yellowjackets look to make a move in the conference standings to secure a berth into the UMAC tournament later this month. UWS knocked off Martin Luther College 89-72 on Friday night last week to keep their playoff hopes alive. This week, the Yellowjackets have just one foe on the docket as the College of St. Scholastica crosses into Superior for a bridge battle rematch. The Saints defeated UW-Superior 83-65 earlier this season in Duluth on January 7.
Women's Basketball (18-4, 13-0 UMAC)
- The Yellowjackets roll into the weekend on a nine-game winning streak. UW-Superior secured home court advantage in the first round of the UMAC Tournament later this month in moving to 13-0 in the conference standings. The top seed in the tournament may come down to the final game of the regular season as the Yellowjackets meet the second-place University of Minnesota Morris next week on the road. First, the surging Saints of St. Scholastica will arrive in town this weekend to meet UW-Superior in the team's home regular season finale. UWS defeated CSS 72-54 in their first meeting earlier this year on January 7.
Men's Hockey (7-15-1, 1-5-0 WIAC)
- The Yellowjackets suffered a pair of stebacks last week, falling 6-3 to the fourth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon. UW-Superior needs to win now if the team wants to secure home-ice advantage for the first round of the WIAC postseason beginning next weekend. The Yellowjackets will be on the road Thursday night to take on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Those same two teams met last week with the Falcons eking out a 2-0 victory in Superior. UWS will look to return the favor this week. Then, the Yellowjackets return home to host the seventh-ranked University of Wisconsin Eau Claire in the regular season finale and the team's "pink game" promoting breast cancer awareness. The Blugolds defeated the Yellowjackets 7-1 last time out on January 28.
Women's Hockey (10-13-0, 1-7-0 WIAC)
- Riding a three-game winning streak after defeating St. Olaf College 2-1 on Tuesday night, UW-Superior will close out the regular season this week, finishing their WIAC campaign this Friday evening with a match-up against UW-Stevens Point. The Pointers defeated the Yellowjackets 3-1 last time out on January 17. Next Wednesday, UW-Superior will take on Northland College for the team's regular season finale as well as the annual pink game. The Yellowjackets have won three games over the LumberJills yet this season, defeating Northland 8-0 last weekend on February 4.
Men's and Women's Track & Field
- After an imrpessive showing by both the men and women at last week's St. Scholastica-hosted Lake Superior Challenge, select Yellowjacket track & field athletes will be at the UST Showcase on Friday night, but the entire team will be on display Saturday when UW-Superior hosts its second and final indoor meet of the season, the Yellowjacket Open on Saturday.
