Last Week's Highlights
- The University of Wisconsin Superior claimed four Upper Midwest Athletic Conference weekly honors, including sophomore Alex Dzikonski (South Range, Wis./Superior H.S.) representing the Yellowjacket men's relay teams as the UMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
- Sophomore Valerie Rowe (Ironwood, Mich./A.D. Johnston H.S.) earned the UMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor for the first time this outdoor season, having earned a Track Athlete of the Week selection during the indoor portion of the schedule.
- UW-Superior swept the UMAC Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week awards, with first-year right-hander Megan Pehrson (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids H.S.) leading the Yellojwackets on the mound and sophomore outfielder Saige Patrick (Steinbach, Man./St. Mary's Academy) at the plate.

Baseball (5-15, 3-1 UMAC)
- UW-Superior opened its home season Tuesday as the Yellowjackets split in a UMAC doubleheader with Northland College, defeating the LumberJacks 5-3 in game one while narrowly falling 5-4 in game two. Freshman Cory Albertson (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater H.S.) and sophomore Stephen Albertson (Stillwater, Minn/Stillwater H.S.) combined for three home runs in the series, with two coming from the younger brother. Friday, UWS will host Finlandia University in a non-conference twinbill -- with first pitch moved up an hour from previously announced as the games begin 12 p.m. -- before diving back into UMAC play Saturday as the Yellowjackets travel to the University of Minnesota Morris. The Cougars are 6-16 overall and 0-2 in league play. Next Wednesday, UWS will hop across the bridge to take on the College of St. Scholastica. The Saints are 4-0 against the UMAC headed into a Thursday doubleheader at Bethany Lutheran College.

Men's and Women's Golf
- After an impressive outing last week at the Crown College Match Play triangular, the Yellowjacket men will be back in action Saturday at the Wisconsin Lutheran Invitational. Next Monday, the men's and women's teams will be back in Maple Plain, Minnesota for another event hosted by Crown at Pioneer Creek Golf Course.

Softball (12-11, 5-3 UMAC)
- UW-Superior returns to action Thursday afternoon at Liebaert Field hosting Crown College. The Yellowjackets defeated the Storm twice in non-conference play down in Florida and won't look to change that momentum anytime soon as the two teams now meet in the northland. The team will then be off for the weekend before returning to Liebaert Field on Wednesday afternoon to host the University of Northwestern. The Eagles are 8-16 overall but 4-2 in the UMAC heading into this weekend's action.

Men's and Women's Track & Field
- Valerie Rowe (Ironwood, Mich./A.D. Johnston H.S.) followed up her UMAC player of the week performance with another impressive showing at Wednesday night's Hamline Women's Twilight meet.  UW-Superior posted some strong performances including several personal bests for the Yellowjacket women. Saturday, the men's team will re-join the women as the two teams compete at the Lee Krough Invitational hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota.
