LAKEVILLE, Minn. (March 22, 2018) – The Yellowjackets bounced back Thursday evening, dominating the Crown College Storm for the program's first conference win.
Doubles
It was a few easy doubles matches for the no. 1 and no. 3 positions as Alison Tollas (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) and Mariah Linder (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) won 8-0 followed by an Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and Kitana Honkola (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) win of 8-1. Savanna Schatz (Belle Plaine, Minn./Belle Plaine) and Emily Sherrard (Bayfield, Wis./St. Croix Lutheran) also got a victory, but not with a little challenge at 8-4.
Singles
Tollas was challenged in the no. 1 position, winning her sets by a 6-1 6-2 score while Honkola defeated Linda Miller 6-1 6-0, and Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) beat Veronika Mykhailiuk by the same score. Linder saw some challenge in her second set, winning by a 6-0 6-2 score. The rest of the 'Jackets went undefeated in points, winning their matches 6-0 6-0.
Head coach Kolin Dean was impressed with his team saying: "Everyone brought their best stuff today, we had a lot of good, consistent tennis!"
