SUPERIOR, Wis. (April 20, 2018) - The Yellowjackets got their second win over Crown this season, beating the Storm in their first outside match this season.

Doubles

Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and Kitana Honkola (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) saw an 8-3 win at the no. 2 position for the Yellowjackets, while the duo of Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Sam Westgaard (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) were able to capture an 8-2 win at no. 3. The no. 1 grouping of Alison Tollas (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) and Mariah Linder (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) found an 8-1 win over Abby Nelson and Linda Miller.

Singles

Wald saw a clean sweep in her singles matchup against Sierra Nelson, winning 6-0, 6-0. Charlotte Zangs (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) took a 6-4 and 6-1 victory in the no. 4 position, while Youmei Li (Ganzhou, China/Ganzhou) beat her no. 5 opponent by a 6-2 and 6-1 score. The hardest fought battle came from Emily Sherrard (Bayfield, Wis./St. Croix Lutheran) who won her no. 6 spot set by a 3-6 and 6-4 (10-8).

Head coach Kolin Dean commented on the women's win saying, "We played well today and got some good wins across the board."
