ST. PAUL, Minn. (April 30, 2018)Â - The Yellowjackets finished their inaugural season Monday evening after an 8-1 match with Northwestern in the UMAC Tournament.
Doubles
Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Charlotte Zangs (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) pushed back in their doubles match with Gracie Lebrun and Mafee Rinta, but fell 8-4 to the Eagles. Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and Kitana Honkola (Eveleth, Minn./Eveleth-Gilbert) also found a game win at 8-1.
Singles
Dulong found the lone 'Jacket point in singles, collecting a 7-6, 2-6, and 10-4 tiebreaker over Shawna Spears at no. 5. Alison Tollas (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) fell 6-3 and 6-1 in no. 1 while Mariah Linder (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) was beat 6-2, 6-2 at no. 3.
"We fought hard and put it all on the line today, just like we have all season." Head coach Kolin Dean said. "I'm so proud of everyone and what we accomplished this year."
