UW-Superior 8, UW-Stout 1

SUPERIOR, Wis. (April 7, 2018) – The Yellowjackets got a solid home court win Saturday afternoon over the UW-Stout Blue Devils. Falling in just one set.

Doubles

The Yellowjackets swept the doubles competition as Alison Tollas (Ashland, Wis./Ashland) and Mariah Linder (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) had the closest match in doubles, winning 8-6. The other doubles duos won both of their matches 8-2.

Singles

Emily Wald (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) continued her winning streak in singles competition, getting 6-1 and 6-0 wins. Tollas saw some stiff competition at the no. 1 spot, getting a win at 6-1 in the first game. The second game would go to a tiebreaker, Tollas would hold on for a 10-8 win.

Linder would see two 6-2 victories while Megan Dulong (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids) and Charlotte Zangs (Maplewood, Minn./North St. Paul) both saw set wins in the no. 5 and no. 6 going 6-3, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-2.

The Yellowjackets will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, playing a UMAC contest against the Minnesota Morris Cougars at 12 p.m. in Lydia Thering Fieldhouse.
