Dan Conway Classic Results
For the first time in over a decade, the Yellowjacket women's cross country team could classify itself as the home team for a meet. Thursday, they hosted the Dan Conway Classic at Superior's Nemadji Golf Course. The event is named in honor of former Yellowjacket and UW-Superior Athletic Hall of Fame member Dan Conway, who recently passed away.
The Yellowjackets placed third with a total of 78 points, just behind second-place St. Scholastica. N.C.A.A. Division II Minnesota Duluth claimed the meet championship with a total of just 16 points.
Leading the way for the Yellowjackets was senior
Kelli Praska (Eagan, Minn./Eagan), who placed 10th with a time of 20:36.0. She was third among N.C.A.A. Division III runners. Not far behind Praska was freshman
Nicole Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) who placed 18th with a time of 21:32.3.
Ali Manthey (Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River) also earned a top-20 finish, placing 19th with a time of 21:50.0.
Minnesota Duluth's Morgan Radel was the individual champion, crossing the finish line with a time of 19:09.8.
Up Next: The Yellowjackets will be off until Saturday, September 15 when they travel to Minneapolis, Minn. to compete in the Augsburg Invite. The race starts at 10:00 a.m.
