Box Score ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Superior men's tennis team opened play in the ITA Midwest Regional, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus, on Friday.
 
In the ITA singles draw, Andre Luiz de Melo Guedes (Brasilia, Brazil/Centro de Ensino Médio Paulo Freire) defeated Riley Collins of Loras, 6-1, 6-2, before falling to Oskar Wikstrom of Gustavus, 6-3, 6-2.
 
Michael Janes (Bismarck, N.D./Legacy) fell to Wartburg's Cade Davis in the ITA first round, 1-6, 6-1 0-1 (10). 
 
Gergo Potz Nagy (Budapest, Hungary/Veres Pálné Secondary Grammar School) dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Landon Sather of Concordia Wisconsin.
 
Jacob Zacharias (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti) fell, 6-0, 6-0, to Yuv Kataria from Carleton.
 
In the Midwest Open singles draw, Jace Gilbertson (Menomonie, Wis./Menomonie Senior) won his first-round match with Peter Heryla of Luther, 6-4, 6-1. He fell in the second round to 7-6 (5), 1-6, 0-1 (2), to Ethan Heitala of Saint Mary's. 
 
Also, in the Midwest Open, Miles Dempsey (Golden, Colo./Green Mountain) dropped his first-round match, 6-1, 6-1, to Jake Peters of Concordia (Minn.).
 
In ITA doubles action, Luiz de Melo Guedes and Potz Nagy topped Cole Contardi and Lincoln Maher, 8-6. The pair had its second-round match postponed to Saturday.

Janes and Zacharias fell to Cathage's Daniel Moore and Yanozie Amadike, 8-4.
