ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Due to COVID-19 protocols, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced adjustments to the 2021 spring volleyball tournament Wednesday.
No. 3 seed UW-Superior will withdraw from the tournament due to institutional COVID-19 protocols and procedures, and it will not compete against No. 2 St. Scholastica Thursday.
Instead, No. 2 St. Scholastica will now host No. 4 University of Minnesota Morris Thursday at 7 p.m., in Duluth, Minn. No. 1 Northwestern will now have a bye and will host the UMAC tournament championship match Saturday at 7 p.m., in St. Paul. The winner of No. 2 St. Scholastica and No. 4 Minnesota Morris will travel to face No. 1 Northwestern Saturday. There will be no third-place match Saturday.
The remainder of the UMAC tournament will remain unchanged with the consolation bracket proceeding as planned.
The Yellowjackets' season comes to a close with a record of 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the UMAC.
