Box Score ST PETER, Minn. -- The UW-Superior men's team's doubles pair of Vitor Sakakibara (São Paulo, Brazil/Colégio Saber) and Mateus Miranda Silvestre (Belo Horizonte, Brazil/Colegio Torricelli) advanced through the quarterfinal round of the Midwest Open doubles draw Saturday.
 
The freshman duo defeated Isaac Dhyanchand and Brandon Freber of UW-La Crosse in the first round, 8-1, and then beat Wartburg's Nile Petersen and Joseph Haag, 8-4, in the second round.
 
The pair then topped Dylan Nadolski and Isaac Bruins of Concordia Wisconsin, 8-3, and advanced to the semifinal Sunday at 11 a.m., when Nate Withers and Geoffrey Stoughton of Luther withdrew.
 
Elsewhere, Andre Luiz de Melo Guedes (Brasilia, Brazil/Centro de Ensino Médio Paulo Freire) and Ren Kurachi (Yokohama, Japan/Yokosuka Gakuin) fell to ninth-seeded Leo Esztergomi and David Daniel of Grinnell, 8-4 in the third round of the ITA doubles draw.
