SPOONER, Wis. -- The UW-Superior women's golf team shot 123-over-par 407 as it hosted the UW-Superior Fall Classic at Spooner Golf Club on Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets finished second to Northland, which was nine strokes better in the dual on the 5,642-yard-par-71 course.
Sophomore
Bryce Burris (East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks Senior) tied for her second-best round of the season -- a 23-over 94 -- to finish second overall on the day. Burris was 10 strokes off the lead held by the LumberJills' Maddy Bloedel. Her sister, freshman
Kenady Burris (East Grand Forks, Minn./East Grand Forks Senior), carded 101 for her best collegiate round.
Sophomore
Kenzie Tuura (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) shot 105 for sixth place, while junior
Hailee Melgeorge (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) shot a career-best round of 107 for seventh overall.
Freshman
Allie Maschke (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) rounded out the UWS contingent shooting 108 for eighth place.
The Yellowjackets are back in action next Saturday, Sept. 24 at the UWL Invitational at the Golf Club at Cedar Creek in Onalaska, Wis. Tee time is 1 p.m.
