SUPERIOR, Wis. – UW-Superior men's tennis senior Keisuke Sato (Fukushima, Japan/Fukushima) has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District®, it was announced in a release by the organization.

The College Sports Communicators (formerly known as College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom, separately recognizing women's and men's tennis student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To be eligible for nomination consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and be a starter or key contributor on their respective team.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 1.

Sato is majoring in economics at UW-Superior and carries a grade point average of 3.728. During the tennis season, Sato went 9-4 in singles matches, playing primarily at the No. 6 position. He did, however, have matches at both No. 1 and No. 2 singles during the year. In doubles play, he went a perfect 3-0, winning matches with three different partners.

The Yellowjackets won the 2023 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) North Division regular season championship last month, finishing the conference season with a perfect 10-0 mark. The Yellowjackets wrapped up their season following the UMAC championship match with a record of 23-4.
