MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) revealed its weekly award winners for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3, and senior forward Gabi Andreacchi was named the league's women's hockey athlete of the week.

While centering the Yellowjackets' top line, Andreacchi helped UW-Superior open the season with a non-conference split on the road at Lake Forest College (Ill.). On Nov. 2, she enjoyed a three-point game, scoring once and adding a pair of assists in a come-from-behind 8-5 win. Andreacchi assisted on pair of second period goals before scoring the game-tying goal midway through the third period. She finished the weekend 1-2-3 with three shots on goal and won 20-of-34 faceoffs for a percentage of .588.

The Yellowjackets host their season-opener Tuesday, taking on Saint Benedict. The opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Wessman Arena.
