MADISON, Wis. - The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its weekly award winners for the week of Dec. 9-15 Tuesday, and senior Brynn MacLean (Wilcox, Saskatchewan/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) was named the league's athlete of the week in women's hockey.

UW-Superior went 2-0-1 in non-conference action during the week, and MacLean helped the Yellowjackets earn the final win in a big way. After being held off the scoresheet in a 4-4 tie at College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) and a 2-1 home win over Concordia College-Moorhead (Minn.) on Dec. 13, MacLean led UW-Superior to a 4-3 victory over the Cobbers on Dec. 14. She scored the first goal of the game and added another early in the third period. For the week, MacLean scored 2-0-2, had seven shots on goal and finished plus-2.

Next up for the Yellowjackets is the Fondy Pot Invitational, hosted by Marian University. Superior will take on the Sabres Friday, Jan. 3 at the Blue Line Family Ice Center at 7 p.m.
