KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches released its all-region honors in women's soccer Tuesday, and four Yellowjackets were recognized in Region IX.
Junior goalkeeper
Quinn Clark (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) received a spot on the second team, while senior
Niya Wilson (Superior, Wis./Superior) snagged a third team citation. Earning fourth team plaudits were seniors
Lindrey Schendel (Longmount, Colo./Skyline) and
Mya Holmquist (Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo).
Clark earns her first all-region honor from the United Soccer Coaches in 2024. She appeared in 1,189 minutes starting all 13 matches played. Clark garnered an 8-4-1 record while logging six shutouts on the season, saving 62 opposing shots. For her efforts, she was given an honorable mention citation from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).
Wilson wraps up a historic career as a Yellowjacket, garnering her third honor from the United Soccer Coaches. Starting all 22 matches played, she wrapped up her fifth season tying for the team-lead with 16 goals, along with eight assists for 40 points in 2024. Wilson currently leads the Yellowjacket record book in career goals (84), assists (44), and points (212). Furthermore, she was awarded her fourth All-UMAC First Team selection.
Schendel receives the second regional award in her collegiate career. As a fifth-year senior, she capped 2024 with 22 matches started, scoring two goals and three assists for seven total points. Seeing 1,523 minutes on the pitch, she played a major role for the Yellowjacket defense that limited the opposition to just 1.05 goals and 9.6 shots per match while garnering a first team distinction from the UMAC.
Holmquist caps her Yellowjacket career receiving her first regional award from United Soccer Coaches. She picked up the UMAC's Offensive Player of the Year award along with a first team citation after starting all 21 games and firing 16 goals, tying for the team lead with Wilson. Adding six assists for 38 points she rifled 78 shots on the campaign with 42 on frame, collecting a .205 shooting percentage in 1,260 minutes on the field.
The Yellowjackets wrapped up the 2024 campaign with an overall record of 15-7-1, claiming the program's fourth straight UMAC title and advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
