MENOMONIE, Wis. – The Yellowjacket men's track and field team entered senior
Garrett Lynch (Portage, Wis./Portage) into the heptathlon at the Warren Bowlus Multi Friday. The day saw 17 participants competing in four-of-seven events, featuring the 60-meter dash, long jump, shot put and high jump.
Lynch took 13th in the 60-meter dash with a 7.46 second finish before taking 16th in the high jump with a mark of 5.44 meters. In the shot put, he finished in 12th with a heave of 10.73 meters. Lynch's best finish of the day came in the high jump, garnering a mark of 1.76 meters for 11th in the heptathlon standings.
At the conclusion of day one, Lynch is in 14th place with 2,384 points. Sitting atop the leaderboard is Charlie Nolan from UW-Oshkosh, taking three-of-four first place finishes with 3,006 points.
Action continues for Lynch Saturday and the rest of the Yellowjacket men's track and field team. Events commence at 11 a.m. inside the Sports and Fitness Center.
