MADISON, Wis. – A trio of Yellowjacket women's hockey players received postseason honors from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), the circuit announced Wednesday.
Seniors
Cora Coz (Elk River, Minn./Elk River),
Jenna Hoops (Woodbury, Minn./Visitation School) and
Maddie Rewertz (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing) all picked up an honorable mention nod from the league, while
Brynn MacLean (Wilcox, Saskatchewan/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) served as the All-Sportsmanship nominee for UW-Superior.
Coz finalizes her collegiate career after playing 28 games as a senior, scoring five goals and a career-high 12 assists for 17 points. Playing on the Yellowjacket blue line and up front, she fired 83 shots while blocking a team-best 33 shots from the opposition. Coz fired a season-best seven shots in a pair of contests against Northland College, while scoring the lone goals against UW-Eau Claire Dec. 7.
Hoops led the 'Jackets in goals this season, lighting the lamp on 12 occasions while adding a dozen assists for 24 points. Skating in 28 games she took 94 shots on the campaign, garnering a .128 shooting percentage. Hoops registered a +9 rating on the year, including three power play goals and nine blocked shots. Hoops went on a three-game scoring streak, lighting the lamp versus Concordia College Dec. 14 before firing a pair of goals against Marian (Jan. 3) and UW-Stevens Point (Jan. 4).
Rewertz wraps up her Superior career appearing in 28 games. She scored two goals on the year while garnering a career-high 14 assists for 16 points. She finished the campaign with 77 total shots while blocking 16 opposing shots. Rewertz logged a season-high 12 shots in a 3-0 win over Northland College Feb. 21 while scoring a goal and assisting on four for a total of five points.
The Yellowjackets finished the 2024-25 season with a conference record of 3-9-0 while setting an overall record of 12-14-2.
