COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Friday marked the beginning of the 2024-25 outdoor season for the Yellowjacket women's track and field team. Action got underway a whole day sooner, as inclement weather for Saturday forced Saint John's and Saint Benedict to shift the meet a day early.

Superior had a fine day at Clemens Stadium, as
Summer Hesseldahl (International Falls, Minn./Falls) and
Sidney Bader (Milltown, Wis./Unity) led the pack after picking up finishes that rank them within the top portion of NCAA Division III.

Meet Notes
- Hesseldahl saw herself finish 11th in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 17.23 seconds. This time saw her rank 105th overall in the nation. Later in the long jump she took tenth, leaping to a mark of 4.52 meters.
- Cora Schmitz (Luck, Wis./Unity) led the Yellowjackets in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 29.84 seconds. Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) and Lillianna Jones (Portage, Wis./Portage) crossed the line in 30.09 and 30.19 seconds, respectively. Jones picked up a PR in the process. Later in the 400-meter dash, she picked up another PR taking 12th in 1:06.64.
- Cracking the top ten in the 1,500-meter race was Halle Barker (Superior, Wis./Superior), finishing in 5:10.87 as the fourth-best UMAC finisher.
- Field events saw Kory Windish (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) lead Superior in the discus, logging a mark of 31.39 meters. Isabel Miller (Medford, Minn./Medford) (28.70 meters) and Sydney Cox (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) (26.36 meters) followed, while Cox solidified a new personal best heave.
- At the jumps pit, Bel Dimaze (Monticello, Minn./Spectrum) finished 14th with a leap of 1.45 meters.
- Bader took third place in the javelin throw, finishing with a mark of 36.07 meters. This heave not only sets a new PR, but also ranks 21st overall in all of NCAA Division III. In shot put, she took 13th overall and matched her personal best heave of 10.98 meters.
- Hannah Hutton (Spooner, Wis./Spooner) nearly made the top ten in the pole vault, as she finished with a leap of 2.67 meters.

The Yellowjackets will now prepare for the Hamline Invite, which is set for next Saturday. Events will start at 10 a.m. at Klas Field.
