Three Yellowjacket Women Honored on CSC Academic All-District Squad

SUPERIOR, Wis. – Three members of the Yellowjacket women's tennis team found themselves on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The list logged junior Daylyn Drew (Negaunee, Mich./Negaunee), alongside sophomores Giulia Araujo De Barros (Curitiba, Brazil/Colegio Sabre) and Kate Jonas (Annandale, Minn./Annandale).
 
Drew, an elementary education major that maintains a 3.73 GPA, wrapped up her junior season with a second team distinction from the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC). She wrapped up singles play with an overall record of 9-3, including a 4-0 sweep of conference opponents. Drew held a 6-6 record in doubles play, teaming up with Jonas in the third position for five of her wins.
 
Araujo De Barros holds a 3.96 GPA studying criminal justice. She capped the 2024-25 campaign with an overall singles record of 19-3, a mark that led her teammates. She logged a 12-2 mark in the No. 4 position while staying perfect at the third spot, adding a UMAC record of 2-1 at No. 1 doubles. For her work, Araujo De Barros nabs her first honor from CSC.
 
Jonas studies physical education and sits with a 3.90 GPA. She turned in a strong sophomore campaign, winning 18 singles matches on the year with 12 of those wins at the fifth position. Jonas also added a nine-match winning streak on the year. In doubles play she captured the program record for most doubles wins, as she finished with a team-leading 18 victories.
 
The Yellowjacket women displayed the best season in program history in 2024-25, collecting an overall record of 21-6 and a perfect 5-0 mark in the UMAC. After winning the first conference tournament championship, the 'Jackets received the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament before falling to Hope College in the first round.
