MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – It's been well documented that the 2024 season was an historic one for the Yellowjacket women's tennis team. A new record for wins in a season, a championship in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) North Division, and a trip to the UMAC Championship. The magical run was derailed in the title match, however, as the Yellowjackets fell to Principia.
Â
In 2025, it's been another historic run, and it's also had a hint of unfinished business for the Yellowjackets in their quest for the NCAA Tournament.
Throughout the year, the Yellowjackets have been laser focused on taking things just a step further, and Friday they put themselves in position to do just that. Taking on Webster University in the UMAC semifinals, the Yellowjackets made quick work of the Gorloks, winning 4-0 to advance to the UMAC championship match for the second year in a row, Friday at the Baseline Tennis Center.
Â
The Yellowjackets secured the doubles point and quickly won three singles matches to win their ninth match in a row and improve to 20-5 on the year.
