SAINT MICHAEL, Minn. – Just two days removed from the Yellowjacket women's golf team shooting its best round in program history, they were on the course once again, this time at the UNW Invite at Fox Hollow Golf Course. Their collective score on Sunday was 342, and Tuesday the Yellowjackets nearly bested that score, shooting a team round of 343 for third place overall.
Tournament Notes
- Leading Superior was Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti), who shot a 12-over 84 on the morning. She finished in a tie of seventh place overall.
- Abby Schintz (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) followed with a round of 86, which included four birdies in the first five holes for a front nine score of 38.
- Sophia Otto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) logged an 86 as well on the day. Her and Schintz finished 11th on the player leaderboard.
- Not far behind Schintz and Otto was Olivia Weyenberg (Stacy, Minn./North Branch), garnering a 44/43 split for an 87.
- Karin Hill (Duluth, Minn/Denfeld) shot a 50 on the front nine before shaving five strokes on the back nine, logging a 95 which included a birdie on the par-three 12th.
- Competing as invidivuals, Allie Maschke (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) and Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills) added scores of 92 and 99, respectively. Maya Siddiqui (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern), also as an individual, shot a 109 on the day.
The Yellowjackets are back in action Saturday for round one of the Twin Ports Collegiate. Tee times are set to start at 9:35 a.m. at Nemadji Golf Course in Superior.
