MADISON - Monday saw the second and final day of the UW-Whitewater Fall Invite for the Yellowjacket women's golf team, marking their final tune-up before this week's Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championships. Following a 371 in the opener, the 'Jackets shaved 19 strokes off their collective score to hold 16th place with a 352.
Tournament Notes
- Wrapping up the day with a 39/45 was Olivia Weyenberg (Stacy, Minn./North Branch), collecting an 84.
- Sophia Otto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) followed with an 87, shaving 14 strokes off her first round. She garnered a birdie on the par-five seventh hole.
- Makayla Ammerman (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson) rattled off a birdie, par, par on holes 15-17, helping her cap the round with a 90. Abby Schintz (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) followed with a 91, featuring eight pars.
- Concluding the Superior entrants was Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti), shooting a 100.
The Yellowjackets will now shift their focus to the all-important UMAC Championships. The first of three rounds is set for Thursday at the Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn.
