SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Yellowjacket women's golf team found themselves on their home course Saturday, hosting the two-day Twin Ports Collegiate at Nemadji Golf Course. The 'Jackets began the 2025-26 campaign on the right foot, and in the opening round of their own tournament, they fired another strong round. Superior stands in third place with a collective score of 346.
Tournament Notes
- Abby Schintz (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East) led the charge with a 40/41 split, ending with a nine-over 81.
- Firing a round of 85 was Ashton Parnell (Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti), who logged a 41 on the front nine before carding a 44 on the back.
- Olivia Weyenberg (Stacy, Minn./North Branch) and Karin Hill (Duluth, Minn/Denfeld) each ended the opening round with an 18-over 90.
- Sophia Otto (Mequon, Wis./Homestead) wrapped up the team's main five, logging a 92 on her scorecard.
- Competing as individuals, Allie Maschke (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) fired a 43/46 split Saturday. She was closely followed by Makayla Ammerman (Hinckley, Minn./Hinckley-Finlayson), who logged a 91 on the day.
- Claudia Curtis (Hartland, Wis./Lake Mills) finished with a 51 on the front nine before shaving eight strokes on the back with a 43. Rounding out the Yellowjackets was Maya Siddiqui (Iron River, Wis./Northwestern) with a 106.
The Yellowjackets return for day two action Sunday. A shotgun start is set for 9:30 a.m. at Nemadji.
